However, freight claims company WK Webster said in an update consultation: “According to local reports, these 178 unloaded containers do not appear to have been loaded back onto the ship before the voyage. For this reason, we are contacting Maersk and MSC to find out if they are interested. Ship these boxes to their destination."

In the middle of this month, this 14,000 teu ship may resume its voyage and continue to the west coast of the United States.

Three months after the accident, Japanese shipping company ONE stated that as of the end of last week, the ship had unloaded 940 containers at the port of Kobe, Japan, and added: “Based on the latest assessment, ONE Apus plans to resume sailing around March 15. ."

"If this can be done, the estimated arrival date at Long Beach is around March 30, but it cannot be fully guaranteed and may change. Once confirmed, the berthing schedule will be reflected in the timetable."

The estimated date for the ship’s departure and resumption of the route means that the possibility of declaring a general average is further reduced. The carrier stated that many boxes originally loaded on the ship will also resume sailing.

ONE told customers: "The overall plan is to load as many boxes as possible to ONE Apus within a reasonable range."

But it added: “Due to safety and operational restrictions, some containers originally carried by ONE Apus may need to be carried on different ships.”
