Jim Sunny Worldwide Logistics 2021-04-13 11:49:36
Recently, in addition to Maersk TP23, the shipping company has launched a new route with Star ZX2.

▌ONE launches new CIM2 route

At the end of March, ONE launched a new EAF service connecting East Africa and Asia, connecting Kenya and Tanzania with Malaysia, Singapore and China.

It is reported that ONE recently announced that it will launch a new CIM2 route service connecting Southeast Asia, further strengthening ONE’s network coverage in Asia and providing customers with more reliable and competitive transportation options.

First flight date of CIM2 route:

OOCL SAVANNAH V.403S departs from Qingdao on April 19, 2021

CIM2 route calling sequence:

▌MSC launched a new transportation service connecting Asia and Europe MSC's official WeChat account announced the launch of a new multimodal transport service between Asia and Europe. The transportation plan will transport goods exported from China, South Korea and Japan to St. Petersburg by sea-rail combined transport in Vladivostok and Vostochny, Russia. Through St. Petersburg, goods can be transported directly to major European hubs such as Antwerp, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Le Havre through MSC's European feeder network, which can cover ports and inland connections on the European continent.

The transit time is as follows:

▌Maersk enhances AE19 service

In order to meet the growing demand of customers for Asia-Europe route selection, Maersk is accelerating the promotion of AE19 services. The service connects the ports of Finland, Poland, Germany and Scandinavia with the ports of Asia such as South Korea, China and Japan through sea-rail combined transport.
From now on, the eastbound train from Northern Europe via St. Petersburg and Vostochniy to Russia and the Far East has been upgraded from a fortnight train to a weekly train; and the westbound train has been upgraded from twice a week to a Thursday class. In addition, in order to be able to meet the growing demand for cargo from Asian shippers, Maersk will add a container ship between Busan and Vostochny.

Zsolt Katona, President of Maersk Eastern Europe, said: "The AE19 is highly reliable in intercontinental rail and ocean transportation and is faster than the route via Suez."

The train will cross Russian territory within 12 days, from the Baltic Sea to the eastern Pacific coast of Russia, and the total transit time between Europe and Asia is 25-30 days.

Zslot Katona added: “Thanks to the trust of global customers, the rapid development of AE19 has made possible the sea-rail intermodal transport between Asia and Europe. Despite the impact of the new crown epidemic and the Suez Canal incident on the global supply chain, intercontinental operations are carried out through Russia. For transportation, we are still able to proceed as planned, ensure delivery time, and ensure rapid port transit clearance procedures. This has laid a solid foundation for the further development of intercontinental transportation via Russia in the future."
AE19 service has proven to be a feasible and reliable alternative solution for transporting various goods (including cold boxes and dangerous goods) between Europe and Asia. The service is based on Russian railway infrastructure support and is operated in cooperation with terminal operator Global Ports Inc and railway service provider Modul. AE19 went into operation in July 2019 and has since steadily increased its service frequency. Maersk will continue to expand its service scale to meet the growing needs of customers in Asia and Europe.

Alexey Shilo, deputy director of Russian Railways, emphasized: "It is great to see that partners and customers believe that Russian Railways is a reliable link in the global supply chain. The substantial increase in the volume of intercontinental transportation between Europe and Asia through Russia just proves this. Russian Railways and Maersk will continue to work to further improve the speed, capacity and sustainable development of this product."

AE19 uses Maersk’s common bill of lading and can be booked on the Maersk booking platform, which can simplify the customer’s booking process.
