MIKEY Organized by the Sohang APP 2021-03-16 19:28:27

Recently, many shipping companies announced the launch of new routes, all calling at some Southeast Asian ports.

A few days ago, Zhonggu Shipping opened the first foreign trade route-"Shanghai-Ningbo-Ho Chi Minh" non-stop weekly route CV1. It is planned to make its maiden voyage in Shanghai on March 20, officially taking the first step in opening up an international shipping route.

In addition, which shipping company has launched a new service?

▍Maersk launches TP23 new trans-Pacific service

The Danish-based shipping giant Maersk announced that as congestion continues until 2021, the company plans to add a new weekly trans-Pacific service instead of continuing to use temporary flights and additional ships.

This new service will be called TP23 and will call at ports on the east coast of the United States, thereby reducing congestion on the west coast of the United States and providing shippers with an alternative to existing Asian export services. Many export services in Asia currently call at ports in Southern California. .

The new trans-Pacific East Coast service will include stops in Vietnam and Yantian, via the Panama Canal, and direct connections to Savannah, Charleston and New York in the United States.

Both the transit time and the reliability of the shipping schedule are expected to lead the market, and it is planned to start this service in Asia from the beginning of May. The launch of TP23's new service will comply with any applicable regulatory requirements.

▍MSC announces new Asia-USEC service

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) also announced the launch of a new weekly service, Palmetto, from Asia to the East Coast of the United States.

The company said that the new route will directly connect Vietnam and Yantian, and will provide the best transit time to the South Atlantic ports of Savannah and Charleston and New York, and will pass through the Panama Canal on the way to the United States.

The Swiss-based shipping company stated in its announcement that this new service will “improve the distribution of freight flows in the existing network and increase the reliability of customers’ shipping schedules in all trade services.”

MSC hopes to start this new service from Asia in May, subject to relevant regulatory requirements. According to the MSC press release, full details of the deployment, start date, rotation and transit time will be communicated in due course.

Not long before, the 2M Alliance just announced that starting from the 8th week of this year, it will adjust two "pendulum routes" and reduce shipping delays by canceling calls to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach in the West of the United States.

▍MSC launches new Southeast Asia-Western United States trans-Pacific service

In addition, MSC has also launched a new container shipping service called Sentosa, which connects Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam with the west coast of the United States to meet the demand for cargo transportation between Southeast Asia and the west coast of the United States. Improve the reliability of trans-Pacific trade shipping schedules.

The new Sentosa route is a dedicated route of MSC, connecting Southeast Asia and the Pacific Southwest market, and promoting trade between Thailand, Vietnam and other countries and the West Coast of the United States.

This will greatly shorten the transportation time for MSC customers to transport goods between Southeast Asia and California, thereby retaining MSC's weekly non-stop flights between Laem Chabang and Long Beach, Thailand, and the loading port of Thailand. The Jaguar service will be cancelled.

The new service is expected to start in early April, and the 4,900TEU MSC Ornella will be the first ship rotated by the Sentosa service. Its port of call is:

Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Laem Chabang – Vung Tau – Long Beach – Shanghai – Ningbo – Xiamen – Singapore

▍ONE launches East Africa-Asia new service

Japan's Ocean Network (ONE) is launching a new service connecting East Africa and Asia.

This new EAF service connects Kenya and Tanzania with Malaysia, Singapore and China and will be launched in Shanghai on March 31.

This new route is an addition to the two existing routes (EA1 and EA2) between East Africa and Asia. The shipping company stated that its goal is to provide customers with additional service options and greater flexibility in a growing market.

The weekly port services are: Shanghai-Ningbo-Nansha-Singapore-Port Klang-Mombasa-Dar es Salaam-Port Klang-Singapore-Shanghai.
